The portion(s) of the video that are automatically included in the video edit to enable music synchronization may include a portion of the video preceding the manually selected segment and/or a portion of the video following the manually selected segment. Thus, the video edit may include a larger segment of the video than was manually selected by the user, with the larger segment of the video enabling music synchronization in the video edit to be maintained. A shoulder element may visually represent a portion of the video that has been automatically selected for inclusion in the video edit to maintain synchronization between the manually selected segment of the video (and/or other segments of the video included in the video edit) with the music of the video edit.
