[0002] The disclosure relates to a method of displaying an image (for example, wallpaper and/or a lock screen) on a display and an electronic device supporting the same.

[0003] With the development of digital technology, various types of electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablet personal computers (PCs), laptop PCs, and/or wearable devices have come to be widely used. A hardware part and/or a software part of the electronic device is continuously developed to support and expand functions.

For example, the user may configure wallpaper in the electronic device, based on an image captured by the user through the electronic device and/or an image acquired (for example, downloaded) from the outside (for example, a server or another electronic device) through predetermined communication. As described above, the electronic device may support a function of configuring and providing (for example, displaying) an image designated by the user as a lock screen of the electronic device and/or wallpaper designated by the user in the home screen.

[0005] Recently, electronic devices of various form factors are being developed. For example, electronic devices may have various sizes of displays (for example, display sizes or screen sizes) according to the form factor. For example, recent electronic devices may have a new form factor such as a foldable device, a rollable device, a slidable device, and/or a foldable & slidable hybrid device. For example, the electronic device may have a flexible display and/or a slidable display, and at least a part of the display may be folded or rolled and used or at least a portion of the display may be unfolded and used. The electronic device may be implemented to expand or reduce the screen of the display in an unfolding type and/or a sliding type.

[0006] Meanwhile, when the conventional electronic device provides the wallpaper, fragmentary wallpaper is provided based on an image designated by the user regardless of various form factors of the electronic device and/or the display size according thereto. For example, the electronic device provides a wallpaper configuration fixed to the size of a predetermined image regardless of various display sizes. In other words, the electronic device does not provide wallpaper more suitable for various displays according to form factors of the electronic device. Accordingly, the user experiences the inconvenience of having to perform cumbersome tasks, such as image editing to generate wallpaper more suitable for the electronic device. Accordingly, recent electronic devices have an increasing need to develop user interfaces (UIs) corresponding to various form factors and to operate the same.

For example, it is possible to support a configuration of wallpaper of which the quality is more improved and which is more optimized for the display size by editing, rearranging, and calibrating objects within the predetermined image. The artificial neural network may be a deep neural network (DNN), a convolutional neural network (CNN), a recurrent neural network (RNN), a restricted boltzmann machine (RBM), a deep belief network (DBN), a bidirectional recurrent deep neural network (BRDNN), deep Q-network or a combination of two or more thereof but is not limited thereto. The artificial intelligence model may, additionally or alternatively, include a software structure other than the hardware structure.

The wireless communication module 192 may identify and authenticate the electronic device 101 in a communication network, such as the first network 198 or the second network 199, using subscriber information (e.g., international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI)) stored in the subscriber identification module 196.

The electronic device 101 may provide ultra low-latency services using, e.g., distributed computing or mobile edge computing. In an embodiment, the external electronic device 104 may include an internet-of-things (IoT) device. The server 108 may be an intelligent server using machine learning and/or a neural network. According to an embodiment, the external electronic device 104 or the server 108 may be included in the second network 199. The electronic device 101 may be applied to intelligent services (e.g., smart home, smart city, smart car, or healthcare) based on 5G communication technology or IoT-related technology.
